Athletic Training Major

The B.S. in Athletic Training is designed to qualify the students for the BOC Certification Exam as well as allow the students to seek postgraduate education in scientific fields, such as medicine, physical therapy, physician assistant etc. This program contains significant chemistry and physics courses to meet the prerequisites of such graduate programs. The B.A. in Athletic Training is designed to qualify the student for the BOC Certification Exam as well as prepare students for work in clinical, high school, or industrial setting where the Bachelor of Arts is the highest degree earned. The addition of microbiology, chemistry, statistics, and independent research courses prepares the student for graduate school programs in exercise physiology, athletic training, physician's assistant, or other allied professions. Students are encouraged to consider postgraduate work, especially if they wish to work in a collegiate or professional setting.

The Otterbein Athletic Training Program is committed to recruiting and maintaining quality athletic training students. Due to the importance of the clinical rotation requirement, the number of students within the program must be limited to 40 sophomores, juniors and seniors.
