Patience Denz '06
Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Health Education and Physical Education.
What she's doing now: I currently teach Physical Education in Olentangy Local School District at the elementary level.
Her Otterbein experience: Growing up I enjoyed staying active and had the opportunity to be involved in a variety of activities. Heading into college, I knew I wanted to take those interests and carry them into a career. Eventually, I decided that teaching was a way to do that because I could share my love of physical activity with children and help develop a lifelong habit of being active.
During my time at Otterbein, I was fortunate to reap the benefits of getting a great education through my coursework and the instructors. I was able to make great connections with the people in the Health and Sport Sciences department and, with their help, gained the knowledge I needed to help me with my career and the confidence I needed to become an educator.
Today, I still stay in touch with members of the staff in the Health and Sport Sciences department and they are just as helpful now as they were when I was in college. I am forever grateful for the enormous role they played in helping me reach my goals.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have about Otterbein College or about teaching. I would be happy to help you! patience_denz@olentangy.k12.oh.us
