Teri Walter

Teri L. Walter joined the faculty at Otterbein in 1985. She is a graduate of Miami University (of Ohio): BS degree in Physical Education and Health Education; MA degree in Biodynamics of Human Performance. In 1994, she received her Ph.D. from The University of Toledo in Higher Education Administration. She is a member of state and national organizations including the Ohio Association (OAHPERD) and American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD); the North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM); Ohio Parks and Recreation Association (OPRA); National Intramural and Recreation Association (NIRSA); American Association for Physical Activity and Recreation (AAPAR); and the American Association of University Professors (AAUP).
In past years, Teri has played semi-pro fast-pitch softball and coached volleyball, softball, cross country, and basketball (assistant) at the collegiate level. She has been director of the recreation and intramural program and director of the faculty/staff fitness and wellness program. Currently, she is co-advisor for the sport management club, advisor for the fencing club, program director and primary academic advisor for the sport management major, and faculty supervisor for internships and independent studies required for the sport management major.
Personal interests include playing softball and tennis, horseback riding and fishing, working with stained glass and wood crafts.
