What he’s doing now: I am currently employed by Event Marketing Strategies located in Dublin, Ohio. A few specific responsibilities include:

  1. Manage pre-event implementation and on-site field execution of the Buckeye Championship Sports Tour™, Nationwide Diversity & Local Sporting Events, and AEP “Home Energy Savings Tour”. This will include travel throughout central Ohio and United States, event set-up and tear-down, hiring and supervision of freelance staff, management of any storage materials, review and restocking of supplies for each event, and ensuring appropriate event follow-up documentation.

  4. Assist with recap presentation materials for various client programs.

I enjoy every minute of my job as I get to interact and build long lasting relationships at the same time, improve my ability and expertise as a ‘Field Marketing Manager’.

About his Otterbein experience: I cannot say enough about my professors and the staff that was on board during my tenure at Otterbein. They gave us all great knowledge within the classroom as well as in “real-life” situations. Lastly, I want to say thanks for all the professors including Dr. Teri Walter who was my advisor for giving me the knowledge and expertise that I need into today’s ever changing sports world.

Jeremiah’s Advice: The fact is, many people are interested in working in sports careers. While not all of the jobs pay extraordinarily well, the positions often are dream jobs for people who prefer to work in a fun atmosphere, around teams, or with athletes.
