Student Electronic Portfolios

A requirement for all of the majors in the Department of Health and Sport Sciences is to build an electronic portfolio. This portfolio enables you to showcase your knowledge and skills to potential employers.

A portfolio is an online collection of personal and professional materials that demonstrate your professional development. Your portfolio demonstrates how you perform and excel on the job or in the classroom; shocases your accomplishments in college; correlates your course work to the "real world"; and emonstrates your mastery of competencies related to your chosen field.

The portfolio is compiled over the course of your years at Otterbein and is due for completion during your internship. The great thing about it is that you don't have to do any additional work outside of what you are already doing for your classes as it is a collection of your class assignments.

Each major has a list of items to be included in the portfolio. Don't want to wait until the last minute to begin your portfolio. Your advisor will be checking to see that you have made progress on your portfolio before you schedule your classes each year.

Please call Annette in the HPED office x3528 if you have questions or need assistance with developing your portfolio. You may also use the portfolio building lab in the HPE office if you need to scan items or update your portfolio.
