Wireless
Networking
Otterbein has a wireless network. Here's how
you can connect your wireless laptop to the network. You must
be a registered Otterbein User or call 614.823.1747 to request
a guest logon.
Technical Information
Otterbein's network can support both 802.11B,
802.11G and 802.11N wireless hardware. If you have an 802.11A
wireless card and want to connect to the wireless network
you will need to get a new card. Of the three technologies,
802.11N is the best choice.
Logon Procedure
See location map below to be in a wireless access
area. (These are generally within noted buildings and immediate
seating areas just outside the building.) Your wireless card
may be configured to attach to a wireless network automatically
or you may need to open your wireless card application, view
available networks and select Otterbein to connect. Then,
open your Internet Browser such as Internet Explorer and a
default logon page will open. Logon with your Otterbein network
account. Logon: username and your password (unique one you
created when you activated your account)
Locations
Currently, wireless connectivity is available
in the Campus Center, Library, Roush Hall, Towers Hall, Battelle
Fine Arts Center, Shear-McFadden Science Hall, and Cowan Hall.
