 Dynamic Menu What's This?

The Dynamic Menu displays expanding submenus. When the Dynamic Menu option is on, you will see a right pointing triangle (Expand). When you put the mouse over the menu item, the menu will expand to the right.

If you like this feature, check the Checkbox to the left; otherwise, make sure it is unchecked.

If you use the same computer every time you visit the ITS web pages, we'll be able to remember your menu preferences!

Information for Nursing StudentsInformation for Graduate Program and Traditional Nursing Students

Understanding and making full and effective use of an institution's information technology resources can be a confusing and overwhelming experience for many new students. This page's purpose is to serve as a guide to get you started with your technology resources at Otterbein. It may be used as a supplement to the Nursing Handbooks on the Nursing website. If at any time you have questions on these resources, don't hesitate to contact the Student Help Desk (located in the Roush basement computer lab, 015A or at 614-823-1060).

Computer Requirements

Computer Requirements Here are system recommendations for those needing to connect to the Otterbein network from off-campus locations. Distance learning students should meet the Better column configuration. The Best column reflects a typical high powered machine and will be more than adequate for four or five years of academic use.

Activate your account

Activate your network account. You should do this before you do anything else. You can even do this before you arrive on campus to purchase your student identification card and parking decal. Important Note: Once you have been accepted at Otterbein College, you need to schedule a class. Once your class schedule is entered into the system, then a program will run overnight and create your network account. You will not have a network account until you have scheduled a class or you have been enrolled to take placement exams - that means no access to webmail, Blackboard, etc... until this happens!

Parking
Parking Otterbein College campus parking passes are available for part-time students that will be on campus on a regular basis for a fee. You can purchase a sticker at the Security Office located in the Campus Center after placing an order on-line. If you are a student at a distance learning site, you will be given a temporary parking permit if you are required to come to campus for class. Visitors on campus park in visitor lots.
IDs and Passwords
Know Your User Names and Passwords. There are five different computer systems on campus and some of them use different User Names and passwords.
