 Dynamic Menu What's This?

The Dynamic Menu displays expanding submenus. When the Dynamic Menu option is on, you will see a right pointing triangle (Expand). When you put the mouse over the menu item, the menu will expand to the right.

If you like this feature, check the Checkbox to the left; otherwise, make sure it is unchecked.

If you use the same computer every time you visit the ITS web pages, we'll be able to remember your menu preferences!

Microsoft Office 2007 for Windows

Click here for Office 2007 on-line training.

Who should take this training: Any student using the new Office 2007 in the labs, Otterbein classrooms (you may have presentations to do for your classes) or on your personal machine and trying to find and use the features. Anyone using older versions of Office may wish to install the converter on the link below.

Description: This on-line tutorial shows former versions of Office and where to find the same feature in the new Office 2007. Office 2007 uses new file formats for its Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. These new file formats are not compatible with older versions of Office. (e.g. someone sends you an Office 2007 file and you have an older version of Office - you cannot open the file)There are converters that enable older versions of Office to open and save in these new file formats!

If you would like to install the converter on your personal computer, you can download them from the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack web page.

This on-line training also features tutorials on how to use all the following applications:

Access 2007
Communicator 2007
Excel 2007
Live Meeting 2007
OneNote 2007
Outlook 2007
PowerPoint 2007
Project 2007

Microsoft Office 2008 Converter Only for Macintosh

Who should use this converter: Even if you own a Macintosh, all students will be using the new Windows Office 2007 in the labs and Otterbein classrooms (you may have presentations to do for your classes). The Windows Office 2007 training is still recommended for Macintosh users. Any student using the older version of Office (pre-2008) on their Macintosh may wish to install the converter on the link below. Office 2008 in Mac version has the same issue that Windows Office 2007 has.

Description: Office 2008 uses new file formats for its Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. These new file formats are not compatible with older versions of Office. (e.g. someone sends you an Office 2008 file and you have an older version of Office - you cannot open the file)There are converters that enable older versions of Office to open and save in these new file formats!

If you would like to install the converter on your personal Macintosh computer, you can download them from the Open XML File Format Converter for Mac 1.0
