Tara Grove, MS

Lab Coordinator for Life & Earth Sciences
Education:
B.S. Life Science & Chemistry, Otterbein College
1997 M.S Biochemisty, The Ohio State University , 2001
My Role in the Life and Earth Science Department:
I am the Laboratory Coordinator, no I mean the person with many titles and little time. You will often find me running a marathon up and down the stairwell of the Science Building as I juggle between pouring plates for the freshman biology class, making media for the happy microorganisms, collecting field specimens for the plant biology class, or quickly entering an order for one of the faculty members. This is really just a small part of what I do. I also act as the Safety Liaison for the department, Stock Room Materials Manager, and occasional Lab Instructor. I guess you can say one never knows what I am doing.
Additional Campus Activities:
I co-instruct a Science Outreach Program with Wendy Johnston to surrounding elementary schools. This outreach program is an informal event that allows young children to engage in science in a non-threatening manner. This program usually runs once or twice a year, and often uses Life Science majors as volunteers. So, if you are interested in volunteering for this event, please contact me or Wendy Johnston. This program will also be offered as a practicum winter term L SC-250.
Member of the Professional Organizations:
