Otterbein's molecular biology laboratory, funded by grants from the National Science Foundation and The George Alden Trust, provides an outstanding facility for science students. It includes a computer lab with direct contact to the World Wide Web, recombinant DNA and tissue culture facilities, spectrophotometers, ultracentrifuges, and fluorescent microscopes.
Otterbein's Courtright Memorial Library, located across the street, offers outstanding resources for science students including easy access to major journals, a science librarian, and online computerized databases.
Faculty in both the Life Science and Chemistry Departments are active in molecular biology and cooperate closely in research, teaching, and publication in the field.
