Daniel King, trumpet instructor at Otterbein has been on the faculty since 1990. He holds the B.M.E in music education and the M.M degree in trumpet performance from the University of Kentucky, as well as the D.M.A. degree in trumpet performance and literature from The Ohio State University.
Daniel has held playing positions in the University of Kentucky Faculty Brass Quintet, the Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra, and The Ohio State University Faculty Brass Quintet. He has also performed with The Columbus Symphony Orchestra, ProMusica Chamber Orchestra, Columbus Bach Ensemble, the New Sousa Band, and has been the concertmaster and frequent soloist for the Brass Band of Columbus for over 20 years.
He has been featured as soloist at the Midwest Band and Orchestra Conference, numerous state music conventions, the 1984 ITG Conference, and in 2000 performed as cornet soloist with the BBC at the World of the Brass Band in Birmingham, England.
Previously, Daniel has been a trumpet instructor at the University of Kentucky, Georgetown College, and Denison University.
