PIANO PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES

Photo of a student playing a piano and being accompanied by a professor playing a cello The Otterbein College Department of Music keyboard program offers many opportunities for interested students. Instruction is available on piano and organ, and students have access to fine grand, upright and digital pianos, as well as to the College's two pipe organs, for practice purposes. In addition, interested students may also gain experience on the Department's two very fine harpsichords. Keyboard students are encouraged to perform as soloists, chamber musicians, and accompanists.

Each year, the Department sponsors a Keyboard Series, which features performances and master classes throughout the season. Over the years, Otterbein's student pianists have had the opportunity to participate in master classes with some of the finest pedagogues in the keyboard world, including Italian pianist Benedetto Lupo and German artist Andreas Henkel.

Otterbein enjoys a relationship with the Yamaha Corporation in which the Department's piano inventory, including the digital piano lab, is updated yearly.
