Otterbein College Selects Presidential Search Finalists

As of Friday, October 31, Otterbein officials have narrowed the pool of president hopefuls to three final candidates.

The final phase of the search is to invite each finalist to campus for a 2-day visit to meet with Otterbein students, faculty, and staff. An open forum has been scheduled with each finalist, so that all members of the college community can know them better. This forum will occur on day two of each visit (i.e., November 6, 12, and 14) between 2 and 3 p.m. at the campus Chapel. We encourage all interested members of the campus community to attend.

Also, Otterbein students, faculty, staff, and alumni are invited to review each finalists' resume. Current students and faculty and staff can view their resumes on the Otterbein Intranet. Otterbein alumni are asked to contact Mary Kerr in the President's Office.

President C. Brent DeVore announced that he will be retiring in June, 2009 after 25 years as president of Otterbein College.

The Board of Trustees has retained Dr. Thomas Courtice, president of Academic Search, to assist with conducting a search for our twentieth president. Dr. Courtice visited campus for two days in April and met with all constituents to receive input on qualities they would like to see in a new president. Candidates will be interviewed by the search committee in the fall and we hope to conclude the search by December, 2008, with an effective starting date for the new president of July 1, 2009.
