Major: Public Relations
Wendy Peterson Bradshaw '95 was able to discover much about herself and take advantage of the many resources available to the students when she was at Otterbein studying public relations. Now as director of community development for the Columbus Blue Jackets, a National Hockey League team, she serves as the team's liaison to Central Ohio through a variety of grassroots outreach programs designed to develop a strong presence in the Columbus community.
"I did not aspire to be in sports, but my current position has allowed me to blend all of my talents and passions into one and make a measureable impact on the community." said Bradshaw.
"I was fortunate to have great mentors and great internship that afforded me the opportunity to meet key business leaders and network in the field of community relations and philanthropy," said Bradshaw.
Her advice is "Take advantage of any opportunity to intern. My internships were invaluable to my career path today. Networking is crucial. Make sure you are doing something you love and follow your passion. Surround yourself with hardworking people who share your passion and energy. Stay fresh and always continue learning."
