Employees receive 10 days of sick leave per year up to a maximum of 130 days, or 40 days maximum for bargaining unit members. Sick leave accrues immediately for Administrative Staff. Biweekly employees are eligible to use sick leave after 120 day probationary period.
Employees are eligible for Short-Term Disability effective the 1st of the month after one year of service. Otterbein pays the entire cost of the premium. After 30 consecutive calendar days for full-time faculty and 14 consecutive calendar days for administrators and staff, the plan pays 60% of base salary for up to 180 days.
Employees are eligible after one year of service. Eligible employees may receive up to 45 days of donated leave time for catastrophic illness/injury.
Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurances
Otterbein pays the entire cost of life insurance coverage for two times your annual salary minus special earnings, up to $250,000. Employees are eligible the first of the month after employment, upon completion of an enrollment form.
Long Term Disability Plan
The long-term disability plan provides financial protection for you by paying a portion of your income while you are disabled. The amount you receive is based on the amount you earned before your disability began. In some cases, you can receive disability payments even if you work while you are disabled. The Employee is eligible the first of the month after one year of service and Otterbein pays the entire cost of the premium. After 180 calendar days of disability, if eligible, the policy pays 60% of your base salary not to exceed $10,000 per month.
