May 20, 2016
Otterbein University

Westerville, OH—Otterbein Summer Theatre opens its 50th anniversary season with Brighton Beach Memoirs at 7:30 p.m. on June 2; 2 p.m. on June 5 and June 10; and 8 p.m. on June 3-4 and June 9-11, ONSTAGE at the Fritsche Theatre at Roush Hall, 30 S. Grove St. Tickets cost $25. Call 614-823-1109 or visit www.otterbein.edu/drama.

There’s liver for dinner, holes in his shoes and a war on the horizon, but 15-year-old Eugene Jerome would rather think about baseball…and girls. Surrounded by his overworked mother and father, his wayward brother and a whole houseful of relatives always in the way, Eugene navigates the minefield of adolescence. Hilarious and touching, Eugene’s chronicles of his misadventures growing up in 1930s New York remind us that family is the one constant in the crazy journey of life. Hailed as Neil Simon’s “finest,” “funniest” and “richest” play, this poignant masterwork elevated Simon into the pantheon of great American playwrights.

Tickets are $25 each and can be reserved by calling the Otterbein University box office at (614) 823-1109 or purchased online at www.otterbein.edu/drama. The box office is open 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and one hour prior to performances. The box office is located in Cowan Hall, 30 S. Grove St., Westerville. Student Rush discounts are available one hour prior to curtain, pending ticket availability.
