Otterbein Department of Music to Present Spring Sing

Westerville, OH—Otterbein University vocalists will perform Spring Sing, an annual celebration of uplifting, entertaining vocal music styles, at 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, in Riley Auditorium at the Battelle Fine Arts Center, 170 W. Park St. The performance will include songs in the musical theatre, pop, jazz, and folk genres. Tickets will be sold at the door; admission is $5 for adults, students are free.

Otterbein student soloists will perform staged musical theatre favorites, such as “I Know Where I've Been” from Hairspray and “Build a Wall” from Shrek, the Musical. Opus One, Otterbein’s vocal pop/jazz crossover ensemble, will perform fresh arrangements of pop favorites, including Revolution by Paul McCartney and Africa by Toto, as well as new a cappella songs The Hymn of Acxiom by Vienna Teng and Café by Jeremy Fox. Other highlights of the show will include the women’s pop ensemble, 6 in the City, performing Young and Beautiful by Lana del Rey and pop combo performances such as Story Of Us by Taylor Swift, Sunday Morning by Maroon 5 and Ain’t No Mountain High Enough by Ashford and Simpson.
