  • A COELEC Higher Education Academy to explore EL support across multiple institutions of higher learning.
  • Higher education documentation of a process of integrating EL instructional support strategies into the Teacher Education curriculum.
  • Ongoing higher education learning community to discuss and develop strategies to support ELs.
  • Paraprofessional certification proposal.
  • Adult EL support to facilitate required assessments, courses, transcript acquisition, course authentication, translation, stipends, career decisions, and submission of licensure applications.
  • Summer Plus Academy (SPA) for preservice and inservice teachers to develop instructional strategies in literacy development, recognize the interaction between academic achievement and non-U.S. cultures, implement culturally and linguistically appropriate assessments and content-specific instruction, and provide EL tutoring.
  • EL adults may earn an associate degree and paraprofessional certificate.
  • EL adults may earn an Ohio teaching credential.
  • Preservice and inservice teachers may apply graduate credit toward TESOL endorsement.
