Otterbein Guitar Instructor Releases CD

Otterbein University guitar instructor Karl Wohlwend has just released his third solo recording: Angiol Michele Bartolotti Passacaglie (1640). The recording is of great historical significance. It is the only recording of this landmark work, which was the earliest collection of a set of pieces written in all major and minor keys. For this recording, Wohlwend performed on a replica instrument of a French guitar from 1680, built by Columbus luthier, Chadwick Neal. More information about the recording, which is a 90-minute, two-disc collection, is available at www.columbusclassicalguitar.com/Discography.html and www.columbusclassicalguitar.com/Bartolotti_Liner_Notes.html

Karl Wohlwend has been a pillar of the Columbus-area musical community, teaching and performing here since 1994. He is a graduate of The Cleveland Institute of Music, and in addition to serving on the music faculty at Otterbein, he teaches at Ohio Wesleyan University, and The Ohio State University.
