Join Us for Bass Day!

Bass Day

Bass Day! on Saturday, October 29, 2011 is simply an opportunity for Bassists of all ages to meet, share their enthusiasm for the bass, and interact with area bassists.

Participants will have a “menu” of activities to choose from and will construct their day upon arrival. There will be jazz and classical activities for all levels during the day.

The afternoon will include a large group bass ensemble. Students can select a half day of activities concluding at 12:30 p.m. or a full day of activities concluding at 4:30 p.m.

Jim Bates

Dr. Jim Bates received his Masters in Bass Performance with Lawrence Hurst at Indiana University. He has taught bass extensively at all levels, including the Suzuki Institute in Louisville (KY), the American School of Double Bass (OH), the International Music Camp (ND) and clinics around the country.
