Programs and Events

The transition into the Otterbein community involves many elements, both inside and outside of the classroom. Co-Curricular experiences have always been valued as an important part of a student’s educational experience and therefore the FYE program has significant co-curricular programming to deliver on the overall program goals. A comprehensive schedule will be published each semester with programs that are designated to meet the goals of the FYE Programs.

Fall FYS Co-Curricular Events

Events are open to all Otterbein students.

Many of these events require that you pre-register.  You must register for events you plan to attend at least 48 hours in advance.  If you do not pre-register, you will not be guaranteed a space at the event.  Your instructor may allow you to attend campus events not listed below.  Please consult with your FYS professor to determine what is considered an approved event for your FYS section.

Resume Workshop Center for Career and Professional Development Explore the basics of resume development. We will discuss appropriate resume content, formatting, and what you can do to make your resume stand out. FYE Registration

Cardinal Career Conference Roush Hall and Campus Center This half-day conference will equip students with the tools and resources necessary to develop and successfully execute their job and/or internship search strategy. Alumni and professionals representing a variety of industries will present on topics including: resume development, interviewing skills, personal branding & LinkedIn, and job & internship search strategies. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with and hear from a panel of alumni, too! The event will culminate in an etiquette luncheon facilitated by a certified etiquette professional. This event is FREE and all participants will receive an Otterbein University padfolio. Advanced registration is required. Register at www.otterbein.edu/career by Tuesday, January 17th.

HPV and Me Towers 112 We will have an expert panel discussion about HPV (Human Papilloma Virus), serve dinner and then watch a video about this STI.  We will discuss the fact that anyone can be effected by HPV, being infected by the HPV Virus can lead to cancer, that there is a vaccine that can PREVENT cancer and because you need to know how to protect yourself & someone you love.   FYE Registration
