Honors Opportunities

Residence Life, Study Abroad, and Service Learning

Honors Housing
Honors students are eligible to live in the Honors residence hall, Mayne Hall. Our residence life community gives you the opportunity to engage with other Honors students and participate in special activities planned just for Honors students.

Service Learning
Kneading Minds is an Honors Program service project that gives you the opportunity to give back to the community. Several times a semester, Honors students come together to bake bread in the Mayne Hall kitchen. Proceeds from campus sales are donated to local area resource organizations.

Off-Campus Study Opportunities
You may continue your Honors work while studying off-campus in the United States or abroad. Learn more about available opportunities here.

The Oxford Program
The Honors Program has arranged with the prestigious Oxford Study Abroad Program (OSAP) to give students the opportunity to study at Oxford. OSAP tuition includes tutorials with Oxford faculty, educational tours of Britain, and housing in Oxford. Contact the Honors director for details.

Field Trips
Honors also sponsors domestic field trips. In recent years we’ve traveled to the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Ontario, Canada; Fallingwater, the site of a landmark Frank Lloyd Wright house; the Chicago Art and Field Museum; and gone whitewater rafting in Pennsylvania.
