New major exclusively for Adult Students!
Otterbein’s new adult organizational leadership major is the next step in the university’s longstanding commitment to developing tomorrow’s leaders today. Otterbein has sponsored leadership courses and programs since the 1980s.
The organizational Leadership major is designed for adults who are first-time college students. The core leadership classes and a limited number of other classes for the major are held in the evenings to accommodate students’ work schedules.
The four-year degree major provides adult learners with the leadership knowledge, skills and techniques that help them thrive in their jobs and advance in their careers. That includes those in the private sector, government and nonprofit organizations who are emerging leaders or in a mid-management leadership role.
“With changes in the economic climate, workers are being tapped more and more to lead groups and to be involved in change initiatives,” said Maria Polak, Otterbein’s director of Leadership Studies. “They need more leadership skills to be successful in this environment and are looking to learn how to be more effective with and through others. Our new major will help position them for that success.”
