< Emergency Preparedness

A sniper is a marksman/gunman who shoots outside targets from concealed positions or long distances. In the event of a sniper on campus, follow these guidelines:
  • If you are outside and hear gun shots, immediately seek shelter inside the closest building or room.
  • Stay clear of all windows and doors.
  • Immediately notify the Otterbein University Police Department at (614) 823-1222 or call 911. Provide as much information as possible and, if safe to do so, remain on the line.
  • Do not leave your cover to assist the wounded.
  • Wait for the Otterbein University Police Department or law enforcement to escort you out.
