- Evaluate your interests and abilities through standardized career testing at the Center for Career Planning (CCP).
- Complete the web-based Focus-2 career assessment.
- Identify 5 to 10 careers that match your interests and skills and do some preliminary research to find out more about them.
- Select elective classes that will allow you to explore areas of interest.
- Participate in community service activities related to your areas of potential interest.

- Meet with your advisor to discuss your academic planning and career questions.
- Meet with a counselor in the CCP to map out appropriate career activities related to your career plan.
- Seek out and get to know people on campus who might become potential mentors - faculty, staff, and administrators.
- Find work study jobs that might expose you to majors or fields of interest.
- Explore the CCP web site and learn about the services and resources available.
- Attend CCP career programs.
