You will explore career options over and over again throughout your life, so it is important to learn HOW to do this. By learning through primary sources what careers are actually like, you can make more informed choices regarding majors and future occupational options.

Ask yourself these questions:

  • Have I taken the opportunity to learn about careers of interest? 
  • Have I talked with anyone who is working in a field I am interested in?
  • Have I had the opportunity to observe people in these careers?
  • Did I look at a variety of occupations before deciding what I wanted to pursue?
