  1. Logon to Banner and Create a Security Question
    You will need to know 2 pieces of information to activate accounts. They are your Otterbein ID and your PIN. These 2 pieces of information also log you in to Banner to handle all student services on-line. Your Otterbein ID is your unique 8-digit number preceded by a capital letter "A" (e.g. A12345678) Students will be mailed their ID and pin after admittance to Otterbein. Faculty and staff will be provided their ID and pin from Human Resources. The very first thing you will need to do is logon to Banner. Then, you will be prompted to fill out a security question on your first logon.  If you do not create this question now and later forget your pin, you cannot retrieve your pin or create a question without knowing your pin first!
  2. Activate Your Network Account
    Go to the new user page. Type in your Otterbein ID and your PIN. Follow the on-screen instructions to create a unique password for your network/O-Zone account. Once you activate your account, don't forget your password! You might want to write a password hint on a piece of paper until you have it memorized.
  3. Activate your Google Apps/Gmail Account
    Logon to My Ozone with your newly activated network account by typing in your username (e.g. jane.doe for students) or (e.g. jdoe for faculty/staff). Then type in your unique password you just created. Once logged into O-Zone, click on the E-mail link in the upper right corner. On the Google logon page, type in your username. Your username here is username@otterbein.edu. (add @otterbein.edu) The first time logon password is your Otterbein ID without the preceding "A." You will be prompted to create a unique password. A good tip is to make your Google password the same as your network password so you only have to remember one Otterbein password!
  4. Activate your My Password Account
    MyPassword is Otterbein’s network password management system. This is where you will go to update your password or unlock your account if you have forgotten your password. As an incoming student, Otterbein’s password policy will also require you to change your network password every six months. This is done on the MyPassword page, as well. Navigate to: mypassword.otterbein.edu in order to manage your password. When setting up your profile up for the first time, you should click on the link to “Edit my Profile”. Here, you will be prompted to enter your network username and mobile phone number so that if you ever forget your password, you will be sent a temporary code via SMS/Text Message.
