Spring Plunge 2012 Community Partner Registration
Since 1970, communities throughout the United States have been celebrating Earth Day. This annual event, founded by Senator Nelson, brings together millions of citizens to better our environment while helping educate them on effective sustainability practices. Each year, Otterbein University (including students, faculty, staff and alumni) celebrates Earth Day within our community by joining with local non-profit agencies for the Spring Community Plunge.
Over 375 Otterbein students, faculty and staff participated in the 2011 Spring Plunge. As a community partner, we invite you to host a group of students at your agency to assist you in completing an agency or community need. When students arrive, you (or one of your employees) can give the volunteers a tour of your facilities, speak to them about your mission and discuss how their efforts affect those you serve. This will give the students a better understanding of why it is important to serve.
The Spring Community Service Plunge will take place Saturday, April 21 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. If your agency is interested in participating in this exciting event, please click here to complete the online registration form. When you complete the registration form, please indicate if you have any specific information that students should know before they arrive to your site or campus location (volunteer attire, work type, etc). Please be as detailed as possible when completing the project description section of the form; this information is vital in order to properly prepare students for involvement with your agency. The number of participating partners is limited so please return your confirmation sheet as soon as possible. The deadline for submission is APRIL 1, 2012.
