youthLEAD Faculty Narratives

youthLEAD is an urban youth mentoring program for school-based service-learning. The goal is for urban youth to work alongside community partners, teachers, college students, and other urban youth in designing and implementing service-learning projects. LEAD stands for Learn, Engage, Act, and Decide. K-12 urban youth and college students come together as equal partners in mentoring relationships.

Once the school year comes to a close, the CCE staff members, youthLEAD site liaisons, and faculty partners take a moment to reflect on their successes with improving education in the community. They have written abstracts that summarize their program and how it has benefited children in the community.
