Commuter Services

So, you want to know how you can get connected on campus? You could join a student organization, have coffee with staff and fellow commuter students, or sign up for one of our commuter partnership programs. Just because you don’t live here, doesn’t mean you can’t stay and play.

Commuter Connection

The Commuter Connection is the perfect time to collect valuable campus information while enjoying free snacks with university staff and fellow commuter students. Commuter Connections will be held TBD.

Commuter Partnerships

Commuter-2-Resident
The Commuter-2-Resident Partnership program (CRP) is designed for new first-year and transfer commuter students. The CRP program is an opportunity for you to:

  • Be invited into the residence hall community
  • Receive invitations from your Orientation Leaders and/or Resident Assistants to participate in residence hall activities
  • Meet other new first-year and transfer students

If you are interested in signing up for the Commuter-2-Resident Partnership program, please contact Molly Ward, assistant director of the Center for Student Involvement and Orientation, at mward@otterbein.edu.

Commuter-2-Commuter
The Commuter-2-Commuter Partnership program connects first-year and transfer commuter students to Commuter Assistants. Commuter Assistants are knowledgeable upperclass commuter students, who serve as a resource to new commuter students. You can contact a Commuter Assistant with questions about everything from getting involved on campus to managing your time. If you are interested in getting connected to a Commuter Assistant, please contact Kadia Reid, assistant director of the Center for Student Involvement, at kreid@otterbein.edu.

Commuter Advisors

The Commuter Connection program pairs incoming, first-year commuter students with a Commuter Advisor, who can serve as a mentor and resource to you through your first year. Each advisor works with a small group of commuters to keep you informed of campus happenings and answer your questions. Not only will you connect with your Commuter Advisor, but you will have the opportunity to connect with other commuter students in your group. For questions about the Commuter Connection program or to find out who your Commuter Advisor is, please contact Kadia Reid, assistant director of the Center for Student Involvement, at kreid@otterbein.edu.

Commuter Student Association

The Commuter Student Association (CSA) helps you become active in campus life and informed of all the available student organizations and relevant campus news. The CSA gives you and other commuter students a voice in the Otterbein community. The CSA holds meetings and sponsors activities throughout the year for commuters and other students. To get involved in the CSA, please contact Kadia Reid, assistant director of the Center for Student Involvement, at kreid@otterbein.edu.
