  The campus setting. Otterbein's campus is beautifully landscaped. The architecture represents our history and our future. It has that small campus charm that you would expect; however, its close proximity to downtown Columbus allows for additional access to social and professional opportunities.

  What advice do you have for students in their college search?

  Try to immerse yourself by experiencing the specific colleges as if you were a student - do an overnight visit, shadow a class, try the campus food, attend a sporting event or a performance. Not only walk around the campus but explore the downtown area adjacent to the campus - remember this is where you will spend the next few years of your life, so you want to find that connection.

  Name one thing you love about Otterbein:

  I love that Otterbein is a small campus that is within walking distance of the downtown area of Westerville and just a quick trip in the car to downtown Columbus. It's a comfortable setting that offers access to the perks of a large city without having to deal with the hustle and bustle of living right in the mix of one.

  What advice do you have for students in their college search?

  Try not to be intimidated by the process because, while it can be stressful, it can also be a lot of fun! Make sure to ask questions and try to visit as many campuses as possible that are different in both size and location so that you can really determine the place you will call home for four years while learning and growing as a student and as a person.

  While I enjoy the sense of community a lot, I would say one of my favorite things about Otterbein is the strong base provided by the liberal arts education. Being able to take a wide variety of classes and find applicability in those classes toward your major, your career and ultimately your life is a great aspect of the liberal arts.

  What advice do you have for students in their college search?

  Know yourself more than anything else. You're going to want to beat your head against the wall several times throughout the year, but if you have faith in the process and yourself it's hard to make a bad choice.

  Ask lots of questions! Be sure to be in contact with your Admission Counselor, professors, coaches, current students, alumni- anyone who may have the answers your searching for. Also, try not to stress too much. In the end, you will find the right school for you!
