Students may earn their MSN/MBA degree by completing a total of 14 courses:
- Graduate Nursing core courses (9 credit hours)
- Nursing Service Administration Specialty core courses (10 credit hours)
- Nursing Service Administration core courses (9 credit hours)
- Graduate Business Administration core courses (18 credit hours)
TOTAL = 46 semester credit hours
Note: There is a residency requirement of 36 semester credit hours.
(Students can request transfer credit evaluation for a maximum of 3 graduate courses from another accredited institution, not to exceed 10 credit hours total.)
Foundation Component
There are certain skills and knowledge sets that all students must have before completing some of required courses in the MSN/MBA Program. The Admissions Review Committee will determine if a student is competent in these three areas.
Statistics: Competency in statistics for business applications and mathematics that drive modeling and decision-making.
Accounting: Understand basic accounting principles and applications.
Economics: Understand basic principles of micro- and macroeconomics.
The foundation component requirements can be fulfilled by taking the following courses at Otterbein (or they may be transferred from another accredited institution):
