We offer two graduate certificates

Graduate Certificate in Fraud Examination

With a seemingly never-ending increase in the amount of fraud being committed nationally, the demand within the business environment for managers trained in fraud recognition and preventative techniques is also on the rise. Otterbein University Graduate School is proud to offer a certificate in Fraud Examination for professionals seeking this high demand specialized training. Certificate candidates should have an understanding of financial accounting, either through experience or university coursework.

Fraud Examination Certificate Requirements

  • ACCT 5900 - Fraud Examination

  • ACCT 5910 - Investigation Methods and Interviewing

  • ACCT 5920 - Criminology and Legal Aspects

  • ACCT 5930 - Forensic Accounting

How to Apply

  • Apply online. Click New User, then create a personalized login ID and password to begin the application. This allows you to save the application and complete it later, if necessary.
  • Submit official transcripts from all institutions attended. (Regardless of the number of credits earned.) Please note: Transcripts must be sent directly to the Graduate School from the post-secondary institution or hand-delivered by student in an unopened envelope from the issuing institution. In both instances, the transcript should come in a letterhead envelope.
  • There are additional requirements for international applicants.

Other Information

Previous Knowledge: Certificate candidates should have an understanding of financial accounting, either through experience or university coursework.

Class Times: Classes meet 1 night per week for 14 weeks, 6:00-9:00pm.

Cost: See Tuition and FInancial Aid. Additional expenses for textbooks and supplies.

Please note: It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that all required documents are on file in the Graduate School office.
