The field of allied healthcare professionals is quickly growing. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment growth for health care administrators and managers is 32% for 2020-30 with median pay at $101,340. The profession of Allied Health encompasses a very broad group of health professionals who use evidence-based practice for the diagnosis, evaluation and treatment of diseases, promote disease prevention and wellness for optimum health, and apply administration and management skills to support health care systems in a variety of settings. Healthcare Administration Track

If you are interested in pursuing a career in healthcare management, this is the route for you. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of medical and health services managers is projected to grow 17 percent from 2014 to 2024, which is much faster than the average for all occupations. Added coursework in the Healthcare Administration track includes U.S. Healthcare Policy, Ethical Healthcare Leadership, and the option of a Practicum or Thesis for a total of 30 credit hours total. Exercise and Health Science Track

As businesses, government, and insurance organizations continue to recognize the benefits of health and fitness programs for their employees, incentives to join gyms or wellness programs are expected to increase the need for professionals involved in exercise, wellness, and disease prevention. Added coursework in the Exercise and Health Science track includes electives in Applied Performance Nutrition, Advanced Strength and Conditioning, and others across graduate disciplines. MSAH and Wellcoaches Partnership

Wellcoaches

MSAH 6700: Wellcoaches Health Coaching: a hybrid course of online, teleclass, and coaching sessions. The course will cover topics such as; how to establish growth-promoting relationships, readiness to change, eliciting motivation, and appreciative goal review, among others. A 10-hour self-paced healthy habits class will also be provided.

Wellcoaches is the premier certification in the industry and describes health and wellness coaches as, “expert facilitators of mindset and behavior change that generates sustainable healthy lifestyles, which prevent or treat disease, and foster well-being and thriving.”

MSAH 6700: Wellcoaches Health Coaching: will include a 10-hour healthy habits class to be completed on your own pace and then twice weekly 90 minutes meetings, over a 9-week period. Wellcoaches is offered during the summer term.
