Emmanuel Brown '08 (student trustee)
Emmanuel Brown is a junior Sociology major who currently serves as the College Judicial Council Chair and is a member of Administrative Council, College Senate, Student Life Committee and Martin Luther King Convocation Committee. He is affiliated with the African American Student Union and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Emmanuel has received various awards and scholarships, and has been on the Dean's List at Otterbein.
Emmanuel is a leader in his community. He is Assistant Regional Vice President of Alphi Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and is also a member of their board of directors. In addition, he serves on the Alpha Phi Alpha Educational Foundation and is a Financial Aid Advisor for I Know I Can in Columbus. Emmanuel has interned in the office of an Ohio State Senator from December 2005 to March 2006 and with the Task Force Police in Columbus from September 2004 to June 2005.

F. Ramsey Coates
Representing the Western Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church, Ramsey Coates earned his B.A. from Earlham College majoring in political science, and he graduated summa cum laude from the Ohio State University College of Law, earning a J. D. degree. Coates served as an associate with Baker & Hostetler in Cleveland, Ohio from 1971 to 1976 before taking a position as an international lawyer with Westinghouse Electric Corporation in Pittsburgh, PA. He has been with Westinghouse since 1976 residing in the Pittsburgh area, except for time spent as Westinghouse Counsel-Europe residing in Brussels, Belgium.
Today, he serves as Senior Vice President and General Counsel to Westinghouse Electric Company LLC, a United States subsidiary recently acquired by Toshiba Corporation of Japan and provides leadership to Westinghouse global legal activities. He is a member of the Finance and Student Life Committees.

C. Brent DeVore H'86
Brent DeVore has served as President of Otterbein College since 1984. Prior to joining Otterbein he served as President of Davis and Elkins College, Vice President of Hiram College and Executive Director of the Kent State University Foundation. His current and recent professional affiliations include serving on the boards of: Council of Independent Colleges, National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, Ohio College Association, Gartmore Mutual Funds, Gartmore Variable Insurance Trust, National Campus Compact, Phi Kappa Tau Foundation, Grant Riverside Methodist Hospitals, James A. and Katherine Rutherford Foundation, Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges, Seran Foundation, United Methodist Higher Education Foundation, Communities in Schools, Westerville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Private Industry Council of Columbus and Franklin County. DeVore holds a B.S.J. from Ohio University and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Kent State University. He is an ex-officio member of all committees. |

Michael Ducey '70
Michael Ducey earned his B.A. in Economics from Otterbein and an M.B.A. from the University of Dayton. Ducey started his career at Borden in 1973, serving in progressively prominent positions culminating in his election as President and CEO of Borden Chemical, Inc. in February 1999. He served as President and CEO of Compass Minerals Group in Kansas City, MO, until his recent retirement. He currently serves on the board of United Agri Products in Greeley, Colorado and is a member of the Governance and Compensation Committees. An At-Large Trustee on Otterbein's board, he serves on the Advancement, Finance, Investment and ad hoc Compensation Committees. |

William Evans '56
William Evans received a B.S. in Mathematics from Otterbein and did post-graduate work at both the University of Pittsburgh and The Ohio State University. His first position after college was with Westinghouse Electric where he worked for five years. By 1963 Evans had been recruited by the Battelle Memorial Institute to lead the development of scientific computing for the Korean Institute of Science and Technology. He has worked with several underdeveloped countries on both infrastructure and technical needs. During the last fifteen years of his career with Battelle, he served as Director of Information and Communication Systems with responsibility for establishing and operating Battelle's worldwide information and telecommunication system. A former President of the Otterbein National Alumni Association, he is an At-Large Trustee and is an Officer of the College. He chairs the Governance Committee and serves on the Executive, Investment, and ad hoc Board Enhancement Committees. |

Judith Gebhart '61
Judith Gebhart earned a B.S. in Education and Math from Otterbein College and holds a Master of Science Degree in Math granted by The Ohio State University. An educator, Gebhart has retired from her position on the faculty of Sinclair College where she served as an Associate Professor of Mathematics in the Liberal Arts and Sciences Division. She was appointed by the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church and chairs the Student Life Committee and serves on the Facilities Committee. |

Mary Hall '64
Mary Hall earned a B.A. in Sociology from Otterbein, an M.A. degree from Boston University and her Ph.D. from Simmons College School of Social Work. Her current areas of research include the significance of race in clinical practice, the process of change in substance abuse treatment with pregnant women and the legacy of slavery and undoing racism. Hall is an At-Large Trustee from Northampton, MA, where she is a professor and chairperson of the Clinical Research Institute in the School for Social Work at Smith College. She serves on the Academic, Enrollment and Student Life Committees. |

William E. Harrell, Jr.
William "Eddie" Harrell Jr. earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from Otterbein College in 1994 and his master's degree in business administration from Ashland University. He has been president and CEO of the Columbus Urban League since April 2006. Prior to joining the Columbus Urban League, Harrell served as the executive director of I KNOW I CAN and Project GRAD Columbus. Prior to joining I KNOW I CAN, he served on the organization's Board of Directors. He also held various management positions with The Kroger Company. Harrell serves on the Board of Directors for COSI Columbus, Columbus City Schools Education Foundation, and KIPP Central Ohio. Mr. Harrell serves on the Advancement and Finance Committees. |

Jim Heinisch '53
James Heinisch received a B.A. in History from Otterbein. He is a resident of Atlanta, GA, where he retired after a successful career as a senior executive for Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. He serves as a representative of the Alumni Council and is a member of the Advancement, Enrollment and ad hoc Board Enhancement Committees. |

John "Ted" Huston '57
Upon completing a B.A. in Chemistry and Biology at Otterbein, Ted Huston earned a degree in medicine from The Ohio State University. Named one of the top cardiologists in the area by Columbus Monthly, Huston's career focused on preventive cardiology at the McConnell Heart Health Center. He is now retired. Serving as a representative of the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church, Huston chairs the Facilities Committee and serves on the Academic and Enrollment Committees. |

Nicholas Hill
Faculty trustee Nicholas Hill is Professor of Art and the former chair of the Department of Art at Otterbein College and a resident of Granville, OH. He teaches drawing, printmaking and painting. Hill received his bachelor's of fine arts degree from Michigan State University and his master's of art and master's of fine arts degrees from the University of Iowa. He has taught at Otterbein for 10 years. His previous teaching positions include Union College in Schenectady, NY, the State University of New York at Plattsburgh, and chairperson of the Art Department at Bethany College in Kansas. Hill has exhibited his work in over 150 national and international juried and invitational exhibitions and is the recipient of an Ohio Arts Council Project Grant; two New York State Council on the Arts Grants; grants from Artists Space/New York City and a grant from the Kansas Arts Council.

Joseph Ignat
Joseph Ignat serves as managing director of Blackburn Capital, LLC, an investment banking firm with principal offices in Denver, CO. Prior to his service at Blackburn, he served as vice president of American Deposit Corp., an innovative developer of deposit products for banks. Earlier in his career, he was employed with several firms involved in oil and gas exploration, film making and commercial real estate. Ignat serves as board member of Property and Environment Research Center, an environmental economic research organization in Bozeman, Montana and as a trustee, secretary and treasurer of the Independence Institute, and economic research organization in Golden Colorado. He is a former president and trustee of the Nord Family Foundation, a grant making foundation in Amherst, OH; and the former president and current trustee of the Denver Lions Foundation, a grant making foundation in Denver, CO. Ignat earned his bachelor's degree in physics from Otterbein in 1965, his master's degree in business administration from the University of Colorado in 1970 and is a veteran of the United States Navy.

Katie Johnson '09 (student trustee)
Katie Johnson is a sophomore majoring in Economics with a minor in Environmental Studies. She holds a 4.0 cumulative GPA.
Katie is active in various activities such as campus governance, academic curriculum, athletics and campus organizations. She is active in Plan-It Earth, the Outdoor Adventure Club, Alpha Lambda Delta honorary society and Phi Eta Sigma honorary fraternity. Katie assisted in organizing the Recycling Committee and is a member of the College's Administrative Council and College Senate.
As an Otterbein College Women's Golf Team member, she was awarded the Ohio Athletic Conference's 2005 All-Conference Recognition for Runner-Up at the Conference. She was also named to the 2005-2006 Division III All-American Scholar Golf Team.
Katie plans to attend the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands during Autumn Quarter 2007 where she will take challenging economic classes.

Erwin Kerr H'02
After earning a B.A. from Allegheny College in 1959, Rev. Erwin Kerr received a Masters in Divinity from the Theological School at Drew University, and, later, a D.Min. from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. He is a United Methodist minister and serves as the President of the United Methodist Church Union, a city missionary and social service agency located in Pittsburgh. Kerr was nominated to the Trustees by the Western Pennsylvania Conference to serve through 2008. He chairs the Academic Committee and serves on the Governance Committee. |

John E. King '68
John King earned a B.S. in Biology from Otterbein College. He is a vice president and one of the co-founders of Perot Systems Corporation. He is the member of the Perot Systems' Senior Leadership team that has responsibility for the enterprise quality strategy and direction. King also has responsibility for the organization that supports and maintains the company's corporate systems. As a company co-founder, he acts as an advisor for strategic business relationships between Perot Systems and other service providers.
Before joining Perot Systems, King worked at Electronic Data Systems (EDS) in all areas of the company, from applications development to large-scale program management. For EDS, his last area of responsibility was division management of all business with the United States government. He serves as an At-Large Trustee, chairing the Finance Committee and is a member of the Advancement, Governance and Ad Hoc Compensation Committees.

Angela Lewis
Rev. Angela Lewis has a degree in English Education from Langston University, an M.A. in Secondary Administration from the University of Akron and a Masters in Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary. She serves as pastor of the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Cleveland and is a representative from the East Ohio Conference. She serves on the Enrollment and Student Life Committees. |

John Magaw '57
John Magaw earned his B.S.E. from Otterbein College. His career as a civil servant of 40 years has included service to the Ohio Highway Patrol, Director of the U.S. Secret Service (former head of protection for President George H.W. Bush and family), the Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Deputy Director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency and Undersecretary of the Transportation Security Administration. Magaw is an At-Large Trustee serving on the Facilities and Student Life Committees. |

Thomas Morrison '63
After receiving his B.A. in Social Studies from Otterbein College, Tom Morrison earned a Bachelor of Laws from New York University, then spent four years in the Air Force Judge Advocate General's Corps. Morrison is a partner in the New York City law firm of Patterson Belknap Webb and Tyler LLP. His area of specialty is commercial litigation with an emphasis on advertising, trademark and unfair competition litigation; he regularly represents pharmaceutical, health care and consumer products companies in trials and appeals throughout the country. An At-Large Trustee, he is current Chair of the Board. As such, he is an ex-officio member of all Committees. |

Jane Oman - H'96
A graduate of Vassar College, and a former history teacher at the Columbus School for Girls, Jane Oman is a respected civic leader. Her participation in community and civic affairs has included service to several notable organizations such as I Know I Can, the Ohio Humanities Council, The Columbus Academy, Planned Parenthood and the Columbus Speech and Hearing Center. She was named an Honorary Alumnus of Otterbein in 1996. Oman is an At-Large Trustee who chairs the Advancement Committee and serves on the Governance and ad hoc Board Enhancement Committees. |

Alison Prindle (Faculty)
Otterbein Professor of English Alison Prindle has a deep love of both literature and teaching. She holds her Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Cornell University and her B.A. in Renaissance and Reformation History and Literature from Radcliffe College. Her current professional interests focus on Shakespeare and the original practices of his theater. At Otterbein, she teaches Shakespeare, early modern British literature, linguistics and technical writing, as well as the Integrative Studies composition and literature courses. She is a former chair of Integrative Studies, former director of the Senior Year Experience program and former chair of the English Department. A Faculty Trustee, Prindle serves as a member of the Finance and Governance Committees. |

Peggy Ruhlin '79
A graduate of Otterbein's Adult Degree program, Peggy Ruhlin received a B.A. in Business Administration. She is a principal of Budros, Ruhlin & Roe, Inc., the Columbus, Ohio wealth management firm, with over $1 billion of investments under advisement. She is a Certified Public Accountant (accredited as a Personal Financial Specialist) and a Certified Financial Planner® certificant. An At-Large Trustee, she chairs the Investment Committee and serves on the Audit and Finance Committees. |

Wolfgang Schmitt '66
Wolf Schmitt holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Otterbein College and an Advanced Management Degree from Harvard Business School. Immediately after college, he joined Rubbermaid, Inc. At Rubbermaid he advanced through eleven positions before being elected Chairman and CEO. During his tenure, the company was consistently rated as one of the 10 most innovative companies. In addition the company was awarded America's most admired corporation recognition several times. He retired after 35 years of service, upon the merger with Newell and founded Trends 2 Innovation. T2I is focused on creative innovation for strategies, products and services.
Schmitt received an honorary Doctor of Business and Science from Otterbein in 1994, and was the College's first inductee into the Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges' Hall of Excellence. He is an At-Large Trustee chairing the ad hoc Compensation Committee and serving on the Audit and Governance Committees.

Kent D. Stuckey '79
Kent Stuckey earned his B.A. in Political Science, Psychology and Music Performance from Otterbein College. He also holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Michigan and a Master in Business Administration from The Ohio State University. Stuckey is a founder, CEO and Board Chairman of Internet Transaction Solutions (ITS), an Inc. 500 company. A former General Counsel and Secretary to CompuServe and VP of CompuServe Ventures, he is author of the leading treatise "Internet and Online Law." In addition to numerous other accolades, Stuckey was awarded the "Service Above Self" Award by the Upper Arlington Rotary Club in 2005. He is an At-Large member serving on the Audit and Academic Committees. |

Mark Thresher '78
Mark Thresher earned his Otterbein B.A. in Business Administration. After a successful career as a CPA with KPMG, Mark went to work for the Nationwide Companies, where he currently serves as President and COO of Nationwide Financial Services, Inc., Nationwide's publicly traded life insurance and retirement savings franchise. He is also a member of the Columbus COSI Advisory Council. Thresher chairs the Audit Committee and serves on the Advancement, Investment and ad hoc Board Enhancement Committees. |

Alan Waterhouse
Alan Waterhouse served as the first president and CEO of Asteres, Inc., a start-up firm in San Diego which commercialized a system to store and deliver finished prescriptions to consumers in a retail pharmacy. Prior to joining Asteres, Inc., Waterhouse was president of Cardinal Health's Packaging Services division. He came to that position from Pyxis Corporation where he was executive vice president of manufacturing/operations. Before joining Pyxis, Mr. Waterhouse held several senior management positions in manufacturing and operations with General Motors Corporation. Waterhouse's community work includes chairing the annual United Way fund drive for a division of General Motors and devoting a great deal of time to Big Brother/Big Sisters. He received his bachelor's degree in business administration from Otterbein College in 1982 and his master's degree in business administration from Xavier University. He resides in Del Mar, CA.
