Fund Raising Projects

The Friends of the Library raise money to support the Library through fund raising projects, including:

  • Sarah's Corner
  • Fund a "Book"

Sarah's Corner

The 1956 Otterbein University 50th Reunion Committee has established a fund in memory of Sarah Gorsuch. Sarah Rose (Skaates) Gorsuch graduated from Otterbein in 1956; she was a former Blendon Middle School teacher. Sarah was a children's author and published articles in Highlights for Children and Jack and Jill. Sarah's love of words, writing, and children, were the impetus for creating Sarah's Corner, the new name for the Courtright Memorial Library's children's collection. Money raised will be used to improve the collection, including the purchase of :

  • New books and materials for the collection,
  • Lower "children-sized" shelving units,
  • Comfortable furniture, and
  • Artwork and posters appealing to children.

Donations for Sarah's corner can be mailed to:
