Determine Whether Your Source Has Been Reviewed

It is often very important that the article or publication you are using has been reviewed by an outside person, organization, or association. This adds validity to the information found in the item. Ask yourself these questions as you use the research you have found:
If the source is a periodical article, was it peer reviewed or refereed prior to publication?
If the source is a book, what is the reputation of the pubisher?
Can you find a book review or movie review (or other type of critical review) that has been published in a legitimate publication?
For Web sites, can you determine if there was a review process? If not, assume that there was none.
