For non-fiction: Juvenile literature

Title entries with less than 32 pages are usually picture books.

Use the following subject headings to browse through secondary literature and reference materials pertaining to the areas of children and young adult literature, for example guides, bibliographies, criticism, research, history, indexes, etc.

DEWEY DECIMAL SEARCHES:
In order to search in the juvenile non-fiction and teacher resources collection, you can go in OPAL, under 'More Option' and search in the Dewey Decimal Call Numbers. For textbooks, use 372.7 and 372.8. The call numbers 370 through 379 cover the area of education.
RESOURCES:
Middle Search Plus (for middle school students) provides full text from over 140 popular middle school magazines. In addition to the full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for over 170 magazines.
Student
Research Center (for secondary school students, grades
6-12) allows students to search in various content sources (e.g.,
Magazines, Newspapers, Biographies, Country Reports, Film & Video).
They can also search their databases by topic heading, make use of an online
dictionary and encyclopedia, explore the top searches of the day, and even
limit their search according to appropriate Lexile reading levels. Teachers
can use the teacher resources to find curriculum standards for the USA or
for Ohio.
2. SUBJECT RESOURCES
The Educator's Reference Desk allows instructors to search for lesson plans on a given topic for any grade level. Under resource guides, you can find guides to teaching (how to integrate instructional materials, such as video or audio in the classroom), evaluation, counseling, etc.
Gateway to Educational Materials
allows instructors to search for lesson plans on the topic of your choice.
This resource also offers you paths to curricular development (for example,
Achievement Standard Network, or ASN, which contains learning standards
for K-12 education). Also, you can partner with other institutions and develop
curricular and educational programs.
Children's
Literature Web Guide is a guide to resources on children’s
literature and early literacy, including links to authors’ websites,
instructional methods, parent support, etc

Software Directory is a directory of instructional software
resources and is dedicated to incorporating electronic technology into teaching
