The library is excited to announce the debut of a powerful new web searching tool- OneSearch. It is the single most comprehensive tool that searches nearly all the library databases at the same time, including the library online catalog. A single OneSearch query returns full-text or citations to relevant books, journal and newspaper articles, e-books, images, dissertations, videos, CDs, music and much, much more. Integrated features enable you to easily expand or narrow your search results, and even better, it’s fast.

OneSearch is a great place to begin your research. And, of course, you will still have direct access to the many databases offered by the Library.

Give it a try today, and be sure to let us know what you think

Meet with a Librarian

You may have noticed there have been a lot of changes to the library's first floor over the summer! One major aspect of the renovation was the combination of the reference and circulation desks into one point of service. The new Information Desk is where the Otterbein community can receive research help, circulation services, and IT help.

Also new this semester, we are offering Library Research Consultations designed to help visitors with in-depth research, assignments, and any other questions or concerns a librarian can help you with. These consultations can be scheduled in advance and will generally run 15-30 minutes. Take advantage of this great service by checking out the Meet with a Librarian form today!

New Collaborative Learning Facilities

Renovations have also created new collaborative learning spaces in the library. The first floor now houses two 39 inch television screens. Up to four users may connect laptops or iPads to the TV in order to share their work with each other. The collaborative work stations are located on the west end of the first floor.

Also newly renovated is classroom 127. With seating for 25, White Boards on all walls, multiple projectors that can be connected to laptops, and moveable desks and chairs, this space can be adapted to serve large or small group projects.
