New for Faculty - Online Course Reserves Request Form

Course Reserves are a collection of materials with short loan periods that faculty members request to be made available as additional reading for their course offerings. Faculty can now submit course reserve requests online. To submit a course reserve requests online, you can either bookmark http://library.otterbein.edu/Forms/creservef.htm or go to the library web and click on "Library Services and Information", then "Course Reserves".


NAXOS Music Library Now Available

NAXOS Music Library is themost comprehensive collection of classical music available online. It provides access to over 80,000 tracks (5,500 CDs) which includes the entire Naxos, Marco Polo and Da Capo catalogues, plus other licensed independent labels. It features classical music and six other genres including Jazz, Blues, World and Chinese music. All new releases are added monthly.

The music is streamed in 64kbps (near CD-quality). It is possible to listen to complete CDs, complete works or individual tracks. Most recordings come with notes written by musicologists. These can be read while you listen. You can now access this database through the library web site under Find Articles, Research Databases by Subject or by Title.

 Chat With a Librarian 24/7

Do you need help finding resources for a paper, completing a class assignment, or with another research project? Beginning on January 3rd, 2005, the OhioLINK Chat Reference service,which supports Otterbein, plans to redirect OhioLINK patrons to KnowItNow's 24 hour chat service when all OhioLINK operators are unavailable.

Chat with a Librarian allows you to get help when you need it most, from home, the office, or on campus. KnowItNow provides online reference assistance 24 hours a day, seven days a week to all Ohio citizens, and is funded by the State Library of Ohio (an OhioLINK member institution) through an LSTA grant.

When you follow the link to KnowItNow from the OhioLINK Chat with a Librarian page, you will be identified as an OhioLINK user, and the librarian assisting you will have access to most of OhioLINK's research resources.
