Evaluating and Using Your Sources
Evaluation of resources is extremely important. With most books and periodicals, a publisher has reviewed the content prior to publishing the information. On the web, anyone can be an author, editor, or publisher (even you!). Therefore, for anything you find on the web, it is your responsibility to evaluate the information before you use what you found in your assignment. One useful guide for evaluating web sources is the CRAAP Test.
Currency   The timeliness of the information.
Relevance/Coverage The depth and importance of the information.
Authority The source of the information.
Accuracy The reliability of the information.
Purpose/Objectivity The possible bias present in the information.
