Otterbein's Courtright Memorial Library provides access to online resources in the library and other campus workstations.  Off-campus access is available using your Otterbein username and password to log in.

The workstations on the first floor are reserved for reference use or research and should not be used for email or for writing papers.

Students can browse materials of the library through the online catalog. If an item is unavailable at Otterbein but is found at a participating academic library, the item can be shipped to Otterbein for a student's use.

The library's web page provides access to numerous databases, electronic books and electronic journals is available.  Tip sheets for using these resources are also available.

Otterbein College is part of a consortium of private colleges throughout Ohio called OPAL (Ohio Private Academic Libraries).  The OPAL catalog combines resources from all member colleges and serves as the main catalog for Otterbein.  Searching the catalog from the library's homepage limits the search to items held at Otterbein.  If Otterbein does not own the item you're looking for, search all of OPAL and submit a request to have the item sent to Otterbein in your name.  Items are usually received within 3-4 business days.

Otterbein and the other OPAL members are also part of a statewide initiative called OhioLINK which also has a catalog of all member's holdings.  Check the OhioLINK catalog after searching all of OPAL and submit a request to have the item sent to Otterbein in your name.  Items are usually received within 3-4 business days.

Many libraries throughout the world catalog their holdings in WorldCat, a database maintained by OCLC. Choose the WorldCat link from the library's home page to access it. Check WorldCat after searching OPAL and OhioLINK and submit an Interlibrary Loan (ILL) request to have the item sent to Otterbein in your name. ILLs can be submitted online or in person at the Reference Desk.
