Vehicle Registration

All motor vehicles must be registered with the Otterbein College Security Department no later than the third day of classes at the beginning of each academic year.  Registration shall be completed online by using the "Buy a Decal" link.  Decals must be picked up at the Otterbein College Security Department at 194 West Main Street.  Decals will NOT be mailed.

Vehicle Decals

"A" decals - Motor vehicle decals for traditional students living in College residence halls and special purpose housing (Greek and other organizations): $120 for academic year; $80 for winter and $40 for spring term.  Motorized two-wheeled vehicles: $35 for the academic year; $25 for winter and $15 for spring term.

"B" decals - Motor vehicle decals for full-time commuting, continuing studies, and graduate students not living in College residence halls or special purpose housing: $120 for academic year; $80 for winter and $40 for spring term.  Motorized two-wheeled vehicles: $35 for the academic year; $25 for winter and $15 for spring term.

"H" decals - Motor vehicle decals for upperclassmen (sophomore, junior, senior) full-time students living in the Park St. Commons and Dunlap-King Hall: $120 for academic year; $80 for winter and $40 for spring term.  Motorized two-wheeled vehicles: $35 for the academic year; $25 for winter and $15 for spring term.

"P" decals - Motor vehicle decals for part-time traditional, continuing studies, graduate students: $40 per academic year. LIMITED DAYTIME PARKING ONLY.

"Faculty - Staff" decals - Motor vehicle decals issued upon request to non-student employees of the College.

Decals are not transferable.  To register an additional vehicle for the same person, an additional decal must be purchased ($1) and the vehicle registration presented.  A defaced or lost decal must be replaced.

All of the aforementioned permits are valid only as long as the person is associated with Otterbein College in the manner for which the permit was issued.  If a student leaves Otterbein College, the permit becomes invalid, even though the expiration date has not arrived.  In the same instance, if a faculty/staff member is no longer with Otterbein College, the permit becomes invalid.

Temporary Vehicle Registration 

For limited periods, persons may obtain a temporary vehicle registration by following the procedures established for motor vehicle registration.  Permits are for three days ($3), one week ($5), and two weeks ($10).  Three temporary permits are allowed per academic term.

Displaying Decals 

Decals are to be SECURED on the driver's side of the REAR bumper, or the passenger side (lower corner) on the inside or outside of the REAR window glass (tape inside/adhesive outside). Decals must be visible at all times in the specified locations. Decal owner is responsible for proper display of the decal. Decals will be placed on motorized, two-wheeled vehicles so they are visible from the rear of the vehicle.

Purchasing or Trading Vehicles

All persons who purchase or trade vehicles must take part of the destroyed parking decal to the Otterbein College Security Department.  If this is not done, the person whose decal appears on the vehicle will be held responsible for any citations issued.

Early Graduation/Withdrawal 

Upon withdrawal from the College or participation in an off-campus Otterbein College program, refunds will be made to full-time students upon presentation of part of the destroyed parking decal.  A refund request must be received before any academic term begins.  Refunds will be based on one-third the annual cost per term.
