Emergency PreparednessThe Otterbein College Security Department is dedicated to providing a safe and secure education environment for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors to the College. A great deal of research has been put into determining the most current, best available responses to critical incidents in a college setting. The most important thing any student, faculty, or staff member can remember is that pre-planning is essential. While no two situations are the same, the appropriate response to these situations may be very similar and easy to implement. Please familiarize yourself with each critical incident link on the left. If you are able to, access this information during an emergency situation for important telephone numbers, general guidelines and other support information. Speak to your fellow students or colleagues about critical incidents before they occur. Ask yourself, "What would I do if...?" Have a game plan in place should you ever need to use it during a critical incident. Practice your plans to find any possible deficiencies and make appropriate changes, as needed. Should you have any questions, comments, or concerns regarding this information, or if you would like specialized critical incident training, please contact Sgt. Daniel Pierron of the Otterbein College Security Department at (614) 823-1695.
