Tornado

Tornado Watch - Conditions are favorable for a tornado.

Tornado Warning - A tornado warning is issued when a tornado has been sighted in the area.

  • Once notified by the media, tornado siren or by the Ottebein College Security Department, remain calm.
  • Go to the nearest Tornado Shelter Area.
  • Account for everyone in your room/area.
  • If outside, take shelter inside the nearest building.
  • After the storm has passed, contact the Otterbein College Security Department at (614) 823-1222 or call 911 to report any injuries or building damage.
  • If the building is severely damaged, evacuate the building as soon as possible after the storm has passed.  Gather at the Campus Center or another safe location as determined by the Otterbein College Security Department and law enforcement.
