Student Research Fund

The Student Research Fund has been established to support student research and other scholarly and creative endeavors. Current students may apply for one or both of the following grants:

Mini Grant
Up to $75 may be requested for registration fees and/or travel costs related to a conference in which the applicant is presenting.

Regular Grant
Up to $300 may be requested for the following:

  • Registration fees and/or travel costs related to a conference in which the applicant is presenting
  • Materials and supplies (including software)
  • Publication costs
  • Training costs related to research
  • Equipment
  • Travel related to data collection/research
  • Data analysis/technical services
  • Matching funds for other funding sources
  • Funding will not be awarded to support internships, stipends, tuition or consultants.

The selection process for the awards is competitive. Applications are evaluated for completeness and adherence to guidelines; originality; and likelihood of being able to complete the project within the proposed timeframe and with the proposed resources.

Students receiving awards must present their project to the Otterbein community and/or provide the Student Research Fund Committee with documentation of their project. Awardees are recognized at the Spring Honors Convocation.

Students may go to the Student Research Fund website on the intranet (linked at left under Links for Students) to get more details about this program and also to download the application form.
