10 teacher coaches, 10 principals, 100 teachers, 3,000 students, 4,500 parents and 6 Otterbein undergraduates.By encouraging the invention of arithmetic algorithms in grades K-3 with Cognitively Guided Instruction (CGI), this project will increase problem-solving skills for CPS students; increase knowledge of the variety of problems in mathematics for CPS teachers and Otterbein pre-service teachers; and increase mathematical content knowledge for CPS parents.

1,000 adult students at the North Education Center (CPS) (2003)A nurse-managed clinic provides health education, health promotion, health screening, and wellness services to medically underserved adult students who are enrolled in the Department of Adult and Community.

40 middle school teachers from CPS and other central Ohio schools (2002) An 8-day summer Academy to facilitate the integration of math and science via visualization technologies.

Student Teacher Methods PracticumEvery Teacher Education student (90 per year) participates in a significant field experience in a CPS setting
Student Teacher Field PlacementsNine student teachers were placed in a CPS setting for their field placements in 2002-03.
Employment22 Teacher Education graduates secured employment with CPS in 2002. 130 Otterbein alumni are employed by CPS.
Graduate Degree Programs17 CPS teachers are enrolled in the Masters of Arts in Education Program and four are non-degree students (Summer 2002).
Department of MusicJunior Music Education students are placed in Columbus Public Schools for their field placements. Students are recruited for Kinderchor, a children's choir, which offers scholarships to Columbus Public School children who participate. Kinderchor is also a way to share music with area teachers.
Early Childhood Super ConferenceOtterbein dedicates the entire campus to this conference held annually. Faculty/students assist with coordination/presentations.
Otterbein Community Reading ClinicCertified elementary teachers provide language arts training to elementary students from CPS and other school districts to enhance reading and writing skills.
Continuing Studies Students27 CPS employees are enrolled in Otterbein Continuing Studies Program.

Duxberry Middle School
Students participate in field visits during class time and listen to music and art specialists within their Otterbein classes.
Student Athletic Trainer Internship Opportunity Student athletic trainers work with a Columbus High School Certified Athletic Trainer for 10 weeks as one of their required clinical experiences.

Otterbein signed an agreement with Columbus Public Schools, The Ohio State University and Columbus State Community College to collaborate in the improvement of CPS students' success and access to college.
Project GRAD Summer InstituteOtterbein faculty and students assist with the 3-week academic summer camp held on campus for 40 Project Grad high school students (2002-04).
I Know I CanOtterbein enrolls the most IKIC students of all central Ohio private colleges. Eddie Harrell '94 is the Executive Director.
