Every gift impacts Otterbein’s ability to assist our students in achieving their personal best, our faculty in conceiving the smartest way to learn, our University in fostering a place to belong, and our community in modeling values that serve the common good. Where we STAND matters.
Giving Options and Tips
The Otterbein University Campaign provides donors with three distinct ways to support the university. We invite you to consider gifts in each of the three areas.
Cash Pledges for Current Use and Endowment
Cash Pledges can be benefit the general operations of the University, provide need-based scholarships for highly promising students, assist with faculty development, help maintain the University’s facilities, or be directed toward other special initiatives.
Endowment gifts are investment in Otterbein’s future success. Your gift to the endowment establishes an enduring legacy that will benefit students and faculty in perpetuity. Thanks to increasingly generous philanthropy and strategic, prudent investments, Otterbein’s’ endowment now totals more than $90 million.. You can stand with Otterbein by contributing to existing endowments or establishing a new one with a commitment of at least $25,000.
Giving Tip: Donors may take up to five years to fulfill cash pledges.
Otterbein welcomes the opportunity to work with you to remember the University in your future plans. A planned gift is one you arrange during your lifetime with the benefit to Otterbein deferred to a future date.
Planned gifts made through trusts, bequests, charitable gift annuities, and other long-term arrangements enable individuals of all means to create a permanent legacy through the eventual establishment of endowed scholarships and programs.
Your annual fund gift provides the foundation for success at Otterbein and makes a day-to-day difference in the lives of all students with unrestricted operating funds. Since 1948, the Annual Fund has been an integral part of the University’s overall development program.
Giving Tip: Many companies and foundations will match the value of charitable gifts made by employees and their spouses, board members, and retirees. To find out if your company or foundation has a matching gift program, contact your human resources office.
