Governing Councils

The Panhellenic Council
Panhellenic Council (Panhel) is the governing body of the sororities at Otterbein College. This council organizes sorority activities such as Recruitment, Greek Week and service projects. Panhel works jointly with the Interfraternity Council, the governing body of the fraternitites, on the Avalon Adopt-A-School project and Red Cross Blood Drives. Panhel strives to promote scholastic achievement, positive representation of Greek Life and safe social settings.

Panhellenic meetings are on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m.

The Interfraternity Council
The Interfraternity Council (IFC) is composed of representatives from each of the men's fraternities. IFC is in charge of the men's recruitment program and social and service functions throughout the year.

IFC meetings are on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m.

The National PanHellenic Council (NPHC)
The NPHC is the umbrella organization for the historically African-American fraternities and sororities. The purpose of NPHC is to create and maintain high standards in life of fraternities and sororities, to perpetuate constructive fraternity and sorority relationships, to foster an understanding of the structure and method of operation among the affiliate organizations, to address, coordinate and develop action strategies on matters of mutual concern, and to serve as the conduit for such action plans as developed.
