Current Student Housing

First-year students and sophomores are expected to live on campus. However, there are other reasons to live on campus like friendships, convenience, and cost.

The residence halls are each unique and have a variety of options. Some halls have single rooms, triples, and quads. Students may select a super single if one is available. All of the halls have computer labs, internet connections in each room, and cable access.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the terms of my contract?
Housing contracts are legal and binding documents for one academic year regardless of academic rank. A penalty fee equal to 50 percent of one term's room rate is imposed on anyone who is granted a release from his/her contract.

What happens if a vacancy occurs in my room?
Another student will be placed in the space and/or you will be asked to move in with another student. You may invite another student to move to the vacant space talking with your RA or Hall Director. Based on space available and the number of students on waitlists for housing, the option to purchase your room as a super single for the term may be extended prior to moving students. If you anticipate your roommate not returning and know a student you would like to live with, please inform Residence Life immediately by using the Contact link on the left. For more information, refer to the Room Consolidation Policy.

What if I am on internship or study abroad for a quarter?
If you notify the Assistant Director of Residence Life in advance of your situation, your space may be able to be held for you. Another student may be placed in the space while you are away if necessary.

Who is eligible to live off campus?
Any student who will be of junior or senior academic status by the first day of fall term, 22 years of age, married, or commuting from his/her parents' home within a 30-mile radius of the campus is eligible to live off campus if they have not signed a housing contract for the current year. Students living off campus or with their parents are required to notify the Student Affairs Office of their current address. Students not providing their address will be referred to the judicial council. Students ineligible to live off campus and falsifying their address will be billed for housing and will be charged judicially.

How can I switch rooms/roommates?
After speaking with your RA or Hall Director and trying to negotiate roommate conflicts, students wishing to switch rooms or roommates may begin the room change process by picking up a Room Change Form from their Hall Director or the Student Affairs Office. Room changes may occur after the the first week of each term for current students and the first two weeks of each term for new residents.
